Alexander Chacón is a distinguished Superintendent Technology & Innovation with over 18 years of extensive experience in business and technology across America and on global projects. His expertise spans asset management, strategy development, and the implementation of maintenance planning and reliability processes.

Alexander has worked with leadership teams in heavy capital-intensive industries, particularly mining, to deploy large-scale management systems and Integrated Operations programs.

Currently at Antamina, he leads the Digital Innovation portfolio for Antamina, focusing on optimizing decision-making through digital integration across the value chain.

His previous roles include leading innovation project teams and handling advanced analytics initiatives at BHP, where he served as Principal of the Asset Performance Management platform.

Alexander is recognized for his strategic role in the development of predictive models for asset management and for facilitating technology-driven business transformations.

His academic background includes an Engineer’s degree in Electronics Engineering and a secondary specialization in Systems Engineering from Universidad Nacional de San Agustín.

Alexander is also a certified Reliability Professional and has participated in the Oxford Strategic Innovation Programme, further enhancing his leadership in technology-driven operational strategy.

Cecilia Rabitsch, Vice President Environmental Affairs and Sustainability | Southern Peaks Mining

Cecilia joined SPM in December 2020 as Vice President of Environmental Affairs and Sustainability. Previously she worked at Enel Green Power for 6 years as Senior Business Developer and Head of Permits. Prior to Enel Green Power she worked at Anglo American Plc – Copper Business Unit as Head of Environmental Studies & Permits for Quellaveco and Michiquillay Projects.

She holds a BSc in Biotechnology from Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina where she also studied a Master of Environmental Engineering, has a M.B.A. from Universidad de Piura (MEDEX program) and attended a two-year Business Development program at SDA Bocconi in Milan.

Gustavo Martinez, Head of Mining Sales | Sitech Peru

Gustavo is a professional with experience in B2B sales, business development and commercial strategy in technology companies. He has led implementations and services of on-board safety and productivity systems for trucks in the main mining operations in Peru. He currently works as a Sales Manager at Sitech Peru.

Kennia Vélez, Innovation Engineer | Nexa Resources

Kennia is a professional with experience in project leadership in the area of Innovation & Decarbonization in Nexa Resources. She has a solid background in mechanical engineering from PUCP, complemented with studies in project management. She has 4 years of experience in business event management and 2 years in RDI management of mining projects.

She has developed renewable energy, social and sustainable development projects. In addition, together with the Flows, Particles Combustion and Environment – FPCE group, she created a numerical modeling and simulation program for mineral slurry transport and milling processes with the support of Concytec and the World Bank.

Rafael Estrada, Manager of Information Technology, Telecomm and Process Control | Antamina Mining Company

Rafael serves as the Manager of Information Systems, Telecommunications, and Process Control at Compañía Minera Antamina. With over two decades of experience in technology management, automation, and advanced analytics within industrial sectors, he is renowned as an international speaker on innovation and technological management.

Rafael holds the position of President at Perumin Hub and has previously served as the President of the Technology and Innovation Committee at the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy of Peru (SNMPE). Furthermore, he actively engages as an angel investor and advisor to technological startups across diverse global landscapes.

In his management, Rafael has achieved ISO 14001, ISO 9000, ISO 27001, and Sarbanes Oxley certifications, among others. He earned his degree in Computer and Systems Engineering with honors and subsequently completed an MBA at the ESAN Graduate School of Business. Additionally, he is a certified Chief Information Officer (CIO) from Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University.

Tim Joseph, Principal Engineer | JPI mine equipment & engineering & GMG Director

Known worldwide for his expertise in dipper and bucket design based on site specific machine performance, the rapid dampening suspension system, tire performance & life metrics, and ground-equipment interactions; Tim Joseph is the Principal Engineer, JPI Ltd. mine equipment & engineering, serving the global mining industry (www.jpicanada.com). He is best known for his contributions to the design of the Terex MT6300 (now CAT 798F) 410 ton haul truck, the P&H oil sands specific dipper and the JPI double-curve dipper, real-time tkph, g-level analysis and geometric analysis approaches for body design and rolling resistance evaluation.

A proponent of sustainable closure, Tim’s counsel has been sought by the United Nations, Ministers of Energy and Mines in Peru and across Latin America, and Canada’s Ambassadors in Peru & Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. His most recent sustainability work in East Africa was the development of a regional position on green steel for the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Walter Lino, HSE Leader in Mining (Las Bambas Mine) | MMG Limited

Walter specializes in Safety Leadership, Safety Performance, and Critical Risk Management Processes, particularly within the mining industry.

Trained as a global leader at the University of Queensland (UQ) and Adolfo Ibañez University, Walter holds a degree in Mining Engineering, complemented by a Master’s in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Peru, with a focus on mining management. He is also a specialist in Operational Risk Management, certified by UQ, and holds a Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Systems from Fredericton University of Canada.

With 23 years of experience in various roles within the mining industry, Walter has served as Head of HSE, VP OHS, OHS Manager, and held multiple other OHS positions. His extensive career spans both underground (6 years) and open pit mining (17 years), covering the spectrum from exploration to operational stages across numerous Greenfields and Brownfield projects. Throughout his tenure, Walter has championed innovative approaches to foster sustainable improvements in HSE management and has provided invaluable expertise to executive teams in shaping Group Management Strategy.

He is a strategic leader with a proven track record of building and leading effective cross-functional, multi-site, and multi-business teams, driving change initiatives, and implementing H&S strategies. He collaborates through complex and evolving situations, and he is a proficient problem-solver with the analytical skills to evaluate risks and business strategies.
