Codelco

We are an autonomous company, owned by all Chileans, the main producer of mined copper in the world, the leader in mineral reserves on a global level, and the engine of the country’s development.

The name Codelco represents the National Copper Corporation of Chile, an autonomous company owned by the Chilean State. Our main business is to explore, develop, and exploit mining resources, process them to produce refined copper and by-products, and then market them to customers around the world.

We do this work through seven mining divisions: Chuquicamata, Minister Hales, Radomiro Tomic, Gabriela Mistral, Salvador, Andina, El Teniente, in addition to the Ventanas Foundry and Refinery. Our Headquarters is located in Santiago, from where the corporate strategy is coordinated, and developed by a board of directors made up of nine members and the executive president of the company.

Our total sales in 2021 reached US$20,023 million, with the Asian market as the main destination, followed by the South American, North American, and European markets.

Our commercial portfolio

We produce and market the following refined and unrefined copper products and byproducts:

Refined: copper cathodes with 99.9% purity, which are obtained in our electrorefining and electrowinning processes.
Unrefined: copper concentrates, roasted copper concentrates, anodes, and blister (metallic material with a purity of around 99.5%, which is used as raw material for the production of copper cathodes).
Byproducts: molybdenum, our main byproduct, is a key input in the manufacture of special steels; sulfuric acid, which has the property of dissolving various types of metals and substances; gold, silver, and rhenium.

Epiroc

With ground-breaking technology, Epiroc develops and supplies innovative and safe equipment, such as drill rigs, loaders and haulers for surface and underground applications as well as hydraulic attachment tools. The company also offers world-class service and other aftermarket support as well as solutions for automation, digitalization and electrification.

Ivanhoe Electric is a U.S. company that combines advanced mineral exploration technologies with electric metals exploration projects predominantly located in the United States. At Ivanhoe Electric, we use our accurate and powerful Typhoon™ geophysical surveying system, together with advanced data analytics provided by our subsidiary, Computational Geosciences Inc., to accelerate and de-risk the mineral exploration process.

Our portfolio of electric metals exploration projects is headlined by the Santa Cruz Copper Project in Arizona and the Tintic Copper-Gold Project in Utah. We also operate a 50/50 joint venture with Saudi Arabian Mining Company Ma’aden to explore for minerals on ~48,500 km2 of underexplored Arabian Shield in Saudi Arabia.

Offsets will also play a supplementary role in our decarbonization, so we are developing a portfolio of high-integrity nature-based solutions projects at and near our sites. These projects will also deliver positive outcomes for people and nature, allowing us to contribute to a nature-positive future.

Vale

We were founded on June 1, 1942, as Companhia Vale do Rio Doce. Over the years, we became just Vale and built a history. We pioneered the world as a global mining company, we are present in more than 20 countries sharing the passion for our business, we face challenges and we continue to learn every day.

We have advanced ever since the first ore was extracted in Itabira, Minas Gerais. Since then, we started to work in logistics, through our railroads, ports, and terminals, in energy and steel making.

The history of a company is the portrait of its experience, its experience, its learnings, “stories” told by people, individual memories, the dreams of those who made and are part of its trajectory.

As opposed to hematite iron ore that is traditionally mined in Western Australia, magnetite ore requires beneficiation before it can be exported for use in the steelmaking process. Once this occurs, the resulting concentrate is a premium feedstock for steel mills.

Torex Gold

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX: TXG) is an intermediate Canadian gold producer engaged in mining, developing and exploring our wholly-owned 29,000 hectare Morelos Gold Property in the highly prospective Guerrero Gold Belt, located 180 kilometres southwest of Mexico City. The Company is based out of Canada, with our Corporate Office located in Toronto, Ontario.

Torex was the largest gold producer in Mexico in 2023. As of year-end 2023, our workforce was made up of more than 1,200 direct employees and nearly 3,400 contractors. We are proud that 99% of our workforce at site is from Mexico, with approximately 70% from Guerrero State.

Our principal asset, the Morelos Complex, includes the El Limón Guajes (“ELG”) Mine Complex, which is comprised of our El Limón and El Limón Sur open pits, our ELG Underground mine, and our processing plant, which commenced commercial production on April 1, 2016.

We are also growing the future of our mining operations in Mexico through our Media Luna Project, located seven kilometres from ELG. Media Luna is an underground deposit that primarily contains gold, copper, and silver mineralization, located on the south side of the Balsas River. The Media Luna Project was approved by our Board of Directors in March 2022 and construction is well underway, with first production expected in Q4 2024 and commercial production anticipated in Q1 2025. With this investment, we will extend the life of the Morelos Complex through at least 2033 and lay a firm foundation for the future growth plans of Torex.

Our Story

Founded in 2009, XMPro has a proven track record of helping organizations in asset-intensive industries improve operational excellence, reduce risk and increase asset utilization. The company’s initial focus was on providing intelligent business process management (BPM) solutions for industry, and received the Gartner BPM Cool Vendor award in 2012.
