GMG Workshop: Interoperability, London | Nov 28

The Global Mining Guidelines Group (GMG) will host a regional interoperability workshop in London, UK to ensure European voices are heard in our strategy to drive alignment on interoperability and outline a path forward.

Background

In August, we published a report on interoperability alignment among mining companies. It identified key principles, priorities, and forms of commitment for interoperability. Mining company alignment was an important first step because a clear, unified voice from them provides the input suppliers need to adapt and develop new tools and processes effectively.

Now it is time to seek input and ensure alignment among all stakeholder groups, address feedback on the initial work and define an industry roadmap for moving forward. We held interoperability alignment workshops earlier this year in North America and Australia, so this one will focus on ensuring that the strategy incorporates input from European voices.

Objectives

  • Identify the needs and requirements for interoperability within a European context
  • Ensure alignment on principles and paths forward for interoperability
  • Identify and prioritize the next steps for moving forward with interoperability and when they should be accomplished
  • Identify the forms of commitment required to achieve the next steps

Further information

We encourage representatives from mining companies, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), original technology manufacturers (OTMs) and other stakeholders with an interest in driving a strategic direction for interoperability in the industry to attend.

An agenda and logistical details will be sent to all registered participants prior to the workshop.
