GMG Workshop: Open Data Sets for AI in Mining, Perth | Sept 24

The GMG AI in Mining Working Group will host a workshop in Perth on September 24.

Objectives

The focus of the workshop will be to introduce and launch this new project. Objectives will include:

Phase 1:

  • Identify which types of typical mining data would be good candidates for building publicly available data sets for broader industry use.
  • Develop a set of principles and guidelines to underpin the collection, cleaning, labelling and curation of appropriate data.
  • The creation of a suitable repository to allow for broader access.

Phase 2:

  • Execution of several sub-projects to build data sets according to the guidelines and goals developed above.

Deliverables

  • A register of suitable candidate data sets
  • A set of guidelines for the collection and curation of these data sets
  • A set of repositories of gathered data
