Mar 25

GMG is hosting a Foundations of AI in Mining (FAIM) workshop March 25 to progress the development of a global resource to increase understanding and application of AI in mining. All stakeholders are invited to participate.

The workshop objective is to facilitate collaboration to progress the FAIM project. Participants will focus on use case development, and confirmation of definitions and collaboration priorities.

This workshop is intended for all stakeholders with an interest and expertise in AI and mining. This will be a focused work meeting. Your participation is requested to ensure relevancy of the outcomes and to determine a holistic collaboration strategy for AI and mining.

About the project:

GMG’s Foundations of Artificial Intelligence in Mining project aims to create a greater understanding of AI and its applications in mining and to promote increased openness to enable companies to safely adopt AI.

The objective is to clearly articulate a common understanding and framework to allow participants to form a clear understanding of what AI is and the benefits it provides to the Mining industry.

It will accomplish this through:

1. De-mystifying the topic of Artificial Intelligence in Mining through the collation of a comprehensive list of definitions and explanations of common terms and concepts.
2. Building a library of use cases and examples to both illustrate key concepts but also serve as inspiration to the industry on what is possible.
3. Providing an up-to-date collection of resources or links to external ones which allows this project’s outcomes to serve as a “hub” for finding useful information or connections to key resources and people in the AI domain, particularly as they relate to the mining sector.

This workshop takes place just after our GMG Luleå Forum.

An agenda and any documentation will be sent to all who register.
