On November 20, 2025, GMG will host a special event at the Kristineberg Mine in Sweden, offering an exclusive first look at a prototype system that brings a new proven safety framework for mixed fleet mining to life.

Experience mixed fleet equipment operating safely in a real mine! A live demo in the morning will bring the proven safety principles from GMG’s forthcoming white paper, Theoretical Foundations (part of the Framework for Safe Mixed Fleet Operations in Underground Mining project), to life – turning theory into practice right before your eyes.

Participants will also learn about Kite Shield technology – developed by Boliden and LKAB with support from Mobilaris, Combitech, NXP, and Robotec – the behind-the-scenes safety system designed to guarantee collision avoidance in mixed traffic mining environments. By enabling human-operated and autonomous machinery to work safely side by side, Kite Shield is helping redefine the future of underground mining.

In the afternoon, share your experience, use cases, and insights with peers in a workshop where the information gathered will directly shape the next three white papers.
