15 Jun Job Posting: Working Groups & Projects Coordinator
GMG is a global multi-stakeholder network of “doers” in the mining industry, openly discussing challenges and opportunities, and strategizing and collaborating on solutions and the materials to support their implementation. We are searching for a Projects Coordinator to run projects and work with volunteers. GMG projects are focused collaboration efforts that produce tangible guidance (in the form of guidelines, white papers, etc.) for the benefit of the global mining community.
The Projects Coordinator will ensure that projects are running accordingly to plan and that a major focus is put on engaging with volunteers.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Work with volunteer stakeholders
- Enable volunteer stakeholders to create connections and work seamlessly with each other
- Plan, organize, and facilitate technical discussions during meetings and workshops
- Update, support, inform and equip volunteers frequently/regularly
- Keep projects progressing towards completion and attainment of deadlines
- Analyze progress of projects, evaluate and determine path forward to overcome risks
- Report on progress of projects
- Develop efficient processes
- Continuous improvement of all aspects of the project
- Maintain GMG’s standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
- Work with the GMG team, ensuring goals are reached
- Work with the GMG team to identify risks and opportunities
Requirements/Competencies:
- Passionate about working with volunteers
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to grasp technical concepts/topics
- Thirst for knowledge
- Self-starter and self-organizer
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Agile
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of project coordination experience
- At least 3-5 years of volunteer engagement experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies
- Spanish an asset
- Mining industry knowledge an asset
Pay:
R425 000 – 500 000 (permanent contract)
