New Article on Recommended Practices for Battery Electric Vehicles

Industry partner AusIMM has recently published an article by GMSG on the recommended practices for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in an underground environment, calling the guideline “a key tool for the resources industry”.

The article details the opportunity mining companies have to move away from traditional, diesel-based equipment and the next steps to be taken.

The guideline, Recommended Practices for Battery Electric Vehicles in an Underground Environment, was developed by GMSG and the Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC) as a result of stakeholder requests for tools to properly implement BEVs in an efficient and cost-effective way.

The guideline leverages existing standards and research from within the mining industry as well as outside industries and can be used by mining companies in tender documents to OEMs which, in turn, can use it as a blueprint for OEMs in their R&D.
