Partner Event: Cyber Security in Mining Roundtable

GMG is a proud partner on this event.

About the event

Mining company cyber security leaders will be meeting in Perth to share intelligence, dig-in on critical risk factors and topics, and confirm a plan for increasing collaboration and sharing and ensuring an united approach to the cyber resiliency of our industry. Cyber security is increasingly complex for mining companies as the digitalization and automation of our mines advances swiftly. Why go it alone? What can we achieve together in 2023 to protect our mines?

The Mining and Metals Information Sharing Analysis Center (MM-ISAC) is a global non-profit that aims to improve the cyber resiliency of mining and metals companies, preventing incidents impacting safety, environmental sustainability, or operational productivity. They are the only organization in the global mining and metals sector bringing the cyber security community together to share best practices and expertise, share threat intelligence, and develop an industry-wide cyber security peer network. MM-ISAC and GMG work together on the GMG/MM-ISAC Cybersecurity Working Group.

The MM-ISAC Chair, Rob Labbé of Teck Resources, will be holding a roundtable meeting in Perth on Wednesday, October 26 to bring together member companies and other mining company cyber security leaders towards defining the Australian roadmap for increasing the collaboration in 2023. During the roundtable, participants will share their critical issues and dig-in on pathways for solutions covering many of the cyber security priorities today. Topics will include:

• Insider risk

• Cyber security for OT

• Supply chain resiliency

• Shifting from prevention to active management control

• Current threat intelligence including the recent ASIO threat assessment on espionage and foreign interference in mining.
